Mortgage lender, broker, and servicer company licenses

Mortgage company timelines

Company mortgage lender, broker, and servicer licenses. Individual mortgage loan originator endorsements are adjacent and sometimes have a published review window.

What we can say nationally

Confirm the current license name and documents in the NMLS Checklist Compiler. NMLS is a filing channel for many company licenses in this family (mortgage company licenses on NMLS; individual MLOs are a related but separate clock). It is not a published typical wait.

The SAFE Act put individual mortgage loan originators on a nationwide system. Company lender, broker, and servicer licenses remain state licenses. California DRE publishes a current review window for MLO endorsements; that is adjacent, and labeled as such on the California page. We do not treat it as the company-license typical time.

DRE: new MLO endorsement filings reviewed within 3 weeks (as of 4 May 2026)

The California Department of Real Estate publishes current processing times for mortgage loan originator license endorsements. As of 4 May 2026, DRE said new filings and sponsorship requests were reviewed within three weeks of submission. That is an individual MLO-endorsement clock, not a published typical time for a company mortgage lender or broker license at DFPI. DRE lists common delays: duplicate filings, unanswered questions, missing course information, and waiting on DOJ/FBI fingerprint reports.
